Tim Sulser

CEO
Tim Sulser serves as 1876 Resources’ CEO. He joined the company in May of 2022. Mr. Sulser has previously held numerous executive roles, including CSO at Whiting Petroleum and founder and CEO of Salt Creek Oil Company, a successful non-op venture with Duetsche Rohstoff. Previously he worked as a Director at Tudor, Pickering Holt & Co. where he advised on over $11B of transactions . Additionally, he held reservoir engineering roles at Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. and Marathon Oil Company. He has a BS in petroleum engineering from Montana Tech and MS in management science from Columbia University.

Jim Knox

Chief Accounting Officer
Jim Knox serves as Chief Accounting Officer for1876 Resources, he joined the organization at its founding in April 2015. During this time, he built the operational accounting and financial reporting functions from the ground up. He administers the risk management, bank financing, office management, and HR functions. Prior to 1876, Jim was the controller for Comet Ridge Resources, LLC, a private equity funded startup operating in Colorado and Montana for eight years. Jim has held various accounting and financial reporting positions throughout his 30-year career. Jim earned his degree in accounting at Colorado State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Trenton Rico

VP of Operations
Trenton Rico is the VP of Operations for 1876 Resources. Mr. Rico joined 1876 Resources in 2018 and managed the execution of the Company’s drilling and completion campaigns in the DJ Basin. Mr. Rico has deep experience with drilling, completions, production, facilities and construction, and workover in all major oil and gas basins in the Rocky Mountain Region. Previously, he held various roles of increasing responsibility at QEP Resources. Mr. Rico has a BS in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Brooks Gagstetter

VP of Finance
Brooks Gagstetter is the VP of Finance and business development for 1876 Resources. Mr. Gagstetter held a series of positions of increasing responsibility in finance, business development and operational positions at Whiting Petroleum and earlier Kodiak Oil and Gas. Prior to joining Kodiak, he worked in the utility sector developing power projects including base load and renewable energy infrastructure. Mr. Gagstetter has a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a MBA from Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School of Business.

Justin Shannonhouse

VP of Land
Justin Shannonhouse serves as VP of Land for 1876 Resources, LLC. Prior to 1876, Justin worked as a Senior Landman for Kodiak Oil and Gas, Whiting Petroleum and Bruin E&P where he managed various oil and gas assets in North Dakota, including those located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Justin is a Certified Petroleum Landman (CPL) and holds a BA in business administration from Southern Nazarene University.
